If you were unable to attend the 2012 Arthritis Foundation Advocacy Summit, going on now April 16th-18th, you can still let your voice be heard by joining in the Virtual Summit!
Join the AF during the Advocacy Summit by telling your Members of Congress that MORE needs to be done for people living with arthritis!
On April 17th and 18th, hundreds of advocates will meet with their Members of Congress in Washington D.C. to rally support for important arthritis-related legislation. While we are taking to the halls of Capitol Hill we need you to take to your computer and fill your Member’s inboxes with arthritis advocacy messages!
During this “Virtual Summit,” you will be able to watch live via SummitTV on Tuesday, April 17th 8:30 AM-12:00 PM EST.
You can also:
- Hear about arthritis research and the pipeline for new treatments
- Learn the talking points for important advocacy issues
- Hear how to effectively advocate from Washington’s best experts
- Take action and tell your Members of Congress that more needs to be done for people with arthritis
- Tell others about arthritis through social media
You can participate by sharing your story. Tell Members of Congress how Arthritis has impacted your life; take action by utilizing the Arthritis Foundation website to access pre-drafted letters
. Call. Email. It takes less than 15 minutes to make a world of difference for all of us who are living with arthritis– and that’s a lot of people!
Right now arthritis affects nearly 50 million Americans. That is one in five Americans in the U.S. alone. There are over 100 types of arthritis and it is not going away, which is why advocacy is so important for the millions of people across the country where these diseases can be life-altering.
If you can’t join the summit either in-person or virtually, then consider raising money by joining or starting an Arthritis Walk team. Let’s move together towards awareness! Let your voice be heard and do your part for arthritis.
